Being a Crane/Tower Operator is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Crane/Tower Operator performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The Tower Rigger sets up rigging, slings, pulleys, winches, dollies and ropes to safely maneuver loads. Facilitates the movement and positioning of heavy equipment, materials and cargo. Being a Tower Rigger requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Coordinates moving activities with others using hand or other signals.
