A Neurology Tech, also known as a neurodiagnostic technologist, is responsible for conducting tests and procedures to assist neurologists in diagnosing and treating patients with neurological disorders. This may include performing electroencephalograms (EEGs) to measure brain activity, nerve conduction studies to assess nerve function, and evoked potential tests to evaluate sensory and motor pathways. Neurology techs also prepare patients for procedures, explain the testing process, and ensure the accuracy and quality of the results. Additionally, they may be responsible for maintaining and calibrating equipment, as well as documenting and reporting findings to the neurologist. Strong attention to detail, technical skills, and compassion for patients are essential qualities for this role.
