STARR Restaurants is conducting a search for a Paralegal to join our distinguished organization. With a proven commitment to excellence, STARR Restaurants has been the recipient of multiple awards and recognition including two 2017 James Beard Awards. The Paralegal will work directly with the General Counsel, as well as all functional business teams, to further the objectives of the business, while promoting a culture of compliance with applicable regulations and laws and governance best practices.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist attorneys with preparation and production of legal documents, including agreements and correspondence.
- Assist attorney with due diligence process associated with review of transactions.
- Process of proprietary documents involving Personally Identifiable Information including credit and background checks, business applications and financial statements. Must be able to understand financial statements and make preliminary assessments prior to sending to Finance for approval.
- Reviews, analyzes and drafts management agreements, termination agreements, amendments, assignments, legal notices and other legal documents along with related correspondence for attorney review
- Analyzing and summarizing key contract terms, and compiling pertinent information about business agreements to enable the appropriate teams to take proactive steps for timely renewals.
- Responsible for analyzing and tracking compliance issues.
- Facilitates the development process by performing preliminary reviews and coordinating information for management agreements, technical services agreements and other related agreements, checking for compliance with company policies, entering and auditing data regarding contractual obligations, and overseeing dissemination of information to appropriate departments
- Oversee liquor licenses and other permits
- Preparing correspondence on behalf of the legal department to assist with business development, operations, or litigation matters
