Job Description Job Description Position Summary The Marine Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining shipboard mechanical equipment. Fixing, servicing, aligning, setting up, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles. Inspects, maintains, and repairs marine vessels of all sizes. Works on vessels’ hulls, engines, transmissions, navigational equipment, and sometimes electrical propulsion.
