The Center is an independent non-profit social service facility designed to provide support for the youth and families of Lancaster County , Pennsylvania . The Building is located in Lancaster City , Pennsylvania . The Opportunities Center is a 30,000 square foot social service center designed to offer services to the family unit, including financial planning, educational programs, job skills training, counseling services, cultural activities, small business training, athletic programs, fitness programs, health care and a wide range of youth programs. The building was completed in August 2004. Because of the importance of the project, more than 198 individuals, foundations, public agencies, community leaders and area churches have invested in the Bright Side Opportunities Center . They see the center as an excellent way to help stem the tide of urban blight in Lancaster City that has mounting social and economic problems.
