The Department of Fine Arts at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for two courses in the Fall 2024 semester: FA 30A, History of Western Art I: Antiquity to the Middle Ages, 4 credits; and FA 155A, Impressionism: Avant-Garde Rebellion in Context, 4 credits. FA 30A is a survey of the artistic and architectural traditions of the peoples of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East from prehistory to the end of the Middle Ages with an emphasis on their cultural context, meaning and stylistic characteristics. FA 155A is a thematic lecture and discussion-oriented course that focuses on French Impressionism in context.
