DataSavvy, LLC was founded in 1986 by Dr. Jim Knapton. Dr. Knapton taught manufacturing and textile coursework at the University of North Carolina for many years and was also heavily involved in consulting work for private corporations regarding their quality levels. An avid follower of Dr. Deming and Dr. Juran and their research work into total quality management concepts, Dr. Knapton enlisted the help of software programmers and the first version of Error Sourcing Analysis was born. The product line expanded as did the customer base and for the last twenty two years, DataSavvy has been providing quality improvement software to customers. Many upgrades and rewrites later the software is cutting edge, but still employs the same sound lean manufacturing and total quality management principles it was originally developed around. In 2004, Dr. Knapton retired and DataSavvy welcomed Technology Partner, Mitchell Vaughn, as he took the helm. DataSavvy, LLC has been committed to lean manufacturing and total quality management principles since 1986. Principles derived from the works of Dr. Deming and Dr. Juran who were TQM leaders ahead of their time. Lean manufacturing and total quality improvement is our way of life.
