In the summer of 2018, we moved into our new worship center. First Baptist Moss Bluff began with thirty members in 1949, when the population of the area was approximately 1,500 people. First Moss Bluff was the first baptist church in the community. It was never a mission of any other church but, from the beginning, was an independent, self-supporting church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The first church building was completed on October 27, 1949, with Brother Stafford Hebert serving as a part-time pastor. Two years later, the church called Brother Ben A. Hatfield as the first full-time minister. In 1953, the church building was moved to the present site, and a long-range building program began. The first project was an educational building that was completed on September 6, 1955. In 1960, the church voted to build a new, larger sanctuary and the first services were held on September 11 of that year. Our prayer is that God continues to use First as a beacon of truth, hope, and light in the Lake Area for many years to come. When it comes to ministry here, we keep things pretty simple by taking our cues from the early church of Acts. Our focus is on what we call two wings of the bird: worship and small groups. We believe that as we draw near to God in worship, we also draw closer to each other. This is taken a step further when we live life together in our small groups. Here is where we minister to each other and bear each others burdens. Each week we worship with around 1,400 people. Each week we worship with around 1,400 people. It differs from personal selling in that the message is non-personal, i.e., not directed to a particular individual.:661,672 Advertising is communicated through various mass media, including traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, outdoor advertising or direct mail; and new media such as search results, blogs, social media, websites or text messages. The actual presentation of the message in a medium is referred to as an advertisement, or "ad" or advert for short. Commercial ads often seek to generate increased consumption of their products or services through "branding", which associates a product name or image with certain qualities in the minds of consumers. On the other hand, ads that intend to elicit an immediate sale are known as direct-response advertising. Non-commercial entities that advertise more than consumer products or services include political parties, interest groups, religious organizations and governmental agencies. 5. Prospecting: Prospecting is the first stage of the geological analysis (second – exploration) of a territory. It is the physical search for minerals, fossils, precious metals or mineral specimens, and is also known as fossicking. Prospecting is a small-scale form of mineral exploration which is an organised, large scale effort undertaken by commercial mineral companies to find commercially viable ore deposits. Prospecting is physical labour, involving traversing (traditionally on foot or on horseback), panning, sifting and outcrop investigation, looking for signs of mineralisation. In some areas a prospector must also make claims, meaning they must erect posts with the appropriate placards on all four corners of a desired land they wish to prospect and register this claim before they may take samples. In other areas publicly held lands are open to prospecting without staking a mining claim.
