The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports the work of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by assisting in the delivery of speech and language services to students with communication disorders. The SLPA works directly with students in individual or small group settings to help them improve speech, language, and communication skills as part of their individualized education programs (IEPs). Key Responsibilities: - Assist the SLP in implementing speech and language therapy plans for students. - Conduct therapy sessions under the supervision of the SLP, focusing on speech, language, and communication goals. - Work with students on articulation, fluency, voice, language, and social communication skills. - Document and track student progress and provide regular updates to the SLP. - Assessment & Documentation: - Assist in administering standardized assessments and screenings, under supervision. - Collect data and provide input on student progress toward therapy goals.
