Description of Duties This is a skilled position located at the Department of Transportation responsible for highway, bridge and culvert repair and maintenance. Duties involve performing a variety of skilled and manual labor, construction, and shop equipment operations including sign and pavement marking installations, and the operation of construction equipment under a variety of weather conditions and temperature extremes, and various work schedules. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Highway Maintenance Mechanic I, Senior Highway Maintenance Mechanic, Traffic Operation Supervisor, or other higher-level staff member. Daily work is assigned with detailed instructions from a higher-level crew member. Employees are required to move material in excess of fifty (50) pounds. Does related work as required.
