The Ryu Hurvitz Orthopedic Clinic has been caring for patients in the Santa Barbara area for 25 years. The Group's philosophy has always been simple, to provide the best care for patients, period. Dr. Richard K.N. Ryu, as the group's founder, has been the driving force behind this and an active participant not only in the local orthopedic community, but on an international forum as well. He just finished serving as the president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the largest sub-specialty group in orthopedics and continues to teach actively around the world. Dr. Graham Hurvitz joined Dr. Ryu in 2002 and expanded the focus of the group's care to include adult joint reconstruction. Together they have made it their mission to provide the best orthopedic care to the Santa Barbara and surrounding areas. They volunteer their time to care for the athletes of three local high schools as well as Westmont College, UCSB, and the Santa Barbara Foresters. Dr. Jervis Yau is joining the practice in August of 2013. His recent training experience includes working as an assistant team physician for the World Series - winning San Francisco Giants. Dr. Yau will bring expertise in the management of complex sports injuries, including those of the knee, and shoulder. Dr. Yau will also introduce to the Santa Barbara community much needed expertise in the arthroscopic management of hip disorders, including labral tears, impingement of the hip and other complex hip pathologies.
