MADI is a charitable organization based in Minnesota, United States. The organization was founded in 2010 by Mr. Funwi Tita, an immigrant to the United States from Cameroon. Growing up in his village in the North Western part of Cameroon, Funwi experienced poverty in all its facets. When he arrived in the United States, he was determined to make a difference in the lives of children and families who live in the same situation he did decades ago. MADI is registered and certified as a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization in the United States. The organization is also registered as a community based organization with the Kumi Town Council in Kumi district of Uganda. MADI's mission is to help families break the cycle of generational poverty. It's focus is meeting the pressing needs of neglected, abused, and abandoned children in the rural villages of Eastern Uganda. This objective is carried out through four main components: IMG_5705 Child sponsorship to orphans and underprivileged children Life skills development training to youth who have been unable to attend school Faith-based education to instill principles that will guide and shape youth to become responsible citizens Women-centered projects MADI believes in the wholistic approach to help the poor break free from the cycle of generational poverty. Education is central to what MADI does to develop and grow a child to become successful and responsible in life. MADI also realizes that for a child to succeed in school, he or she needs holistic support, including medical and psychological care. As MADI's Change a Life program is designed to support only one child per household with education, MADI additionally attempts to work with the family of the sponsored child in to develop ways each family can sustain itself. Our services are designed to serve everyone within our area of intervention. MADI has a nondiscriminatory policy against religion, color, ethnicity, origin, or creed.
