Our goal is to help each other grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and become effective in advancing the cause of Christianity in our culture. In August of 1986, Fellowship Independent Baptist Church started a private Christian school with students enrolled in kindergarten through grade seven. An additional grade was added each year over the course of the next five years. The school has experienced steady growth and is currently averaging 500 students. In April 2002, NHCS was awarded accreditation status from the American Association of Christian Schools. On July 22, 2003, NHCS was certified by the Kentucky Department of Education for meeting the standards established by the Kentucky Non-Public Schools Commission. In 2014, NHCS was awarded the highest possible accreditation through AdvanED, AACS, and TACS. Located only 10 minutes from Fort Knox and Elizabethtown, NHCS is located right off Highway 313 in Radcliff, Kentucky. Our spacious facilities include four buildings on 10 acres. The Primary Center is specially designed for preschool and kindergarten students with an attached outdoor park. The elementary wing holds 12 classrooms, computer lab, and library. To ensure the safety of our students, all buildings are equipped with state-of-the-art security systems including magnetic- locking doors and security cameras. Our middle school and high school hosts 7 classrooms, computer lab, two science labs, media center, and cafeteria expansion. The current gymnasium and cafeteria are situated between the elementary and high school wings. In addition to the adequate outdoor space, athletic fields are under construction for soccer, baseball, and softball. About Us

What Skills Does a person Need at North Hardin Christian School?

At North Hardin Christian School, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. child development: Child development refers to the sequence of physical, language, thought and emotional changes that occur in a child from birth to the beginning of adulthood.
  2. Child Care: Child care, otherwise known as day care, is the care and supervision of a child or multiple children at a time, whose ages range from six weeks to thirteen years. Child care is the action or skill of looking after children by a day-care center, nannies, babysitter, teachers or other providers. Child care is a broad topic that covers a wide spectrum of professionals, institutions, contexts, activities, and social and cultural conventions. Early child care is an equally important and often overlooked component of child development. Child care providers can be children's first teachers, and therefore play an integral role in systems of early childhood education. Quality care from a young age can have a substantial impact on the future successes of children. The main focus of childcare is on the development of the child, whether that be mental, social, or psychological. In most cases children are taken care of by their parents, legal guardians, or siblings. In some cases, it is also seen that children care for other children. This informal care includes verbal direction and other explicit training regarding the child's behavior, and is often as simple as "keeping an eye out" for younger siblings. Care facilitated by similar-aged children covers a variety of developmental and psychological effects in both caregivers and charge. This is due to their mental development being in a particular case of not being able to progress as it should be at their age. This care giving role may also be taken on by the child's extended family. Another form of childcare that is on the rise in contrast to familial caregiving is that of center-based child care. In lieu of familial care giving, these responsibilities may be given to paid caretakers, orphanages or foster homes to provide care, housing, and schooling.
  3. Early Childhood Education: Early childhood education, also known as nursery education, is a branch of education theory that relates to the teaching of children from birth up to the age of eight.
  4. CPR: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) combines rescue breathing (mouth-to-mouth) and chest compressions to temporarily pump enough blood to the brain until specialized treatment is available.
  5. Professional development: Professional development refers to continuing education and career training after a person has entered the workforce in order to help them develop new skills, stay up-to-date on current trends, and advance their career.
