The White Owl Home Comforts & Boutique (formerly Paddywacs) is owned and operated by two sisters, offering inspiration and a vetted collection of new, reclaimed, repurposed artisan-restyled furniture, home décor, gifts, womens apparel, jewelry, and more. Theres more to The White Owl than what we sell, the evolution of the store may be of interest to you. Our first location for Paddywacs was above a bookstore/wine bar in Osseo, MN but we soon realized that the stairs were not a great idea. We had fallen in love with the vintage space but it wasnt the best location. After a few months of up and down the stairs, we moved down the street to a vintage home which we used as our retail store for about a year. During that year, we developed many friends and customers who encouraged us to seek a new home in Anoka. So we did it and are still here today. After loving and running the store for close to eight years, we came to realize that we desperately needed to focus on family and friends and, it was time for a change from the never-ending demands of running a business (actually two business since, at the time, we also owned Avant Garden here on Main Street in Anoka). We sold the store to one of our vendors who, along with her family, was able to fulfill her dream of having her own store. Amy did an amazing job at the store, loving and caring just as much as we had in the past, but after 2 years she decided it was more consuming than expected and it took too much time away from family. Eventually, we realized that our love for the store couldnt be ignored and the timing was right so we reacquired the store in August of 2019. We now have the store back and are super excited about moving forward with some changes. During this eleven-year journey, weve changed, upstyled, and rebranded ourselves. We are proud stockists of CHALK PAINT® decorative paint by Annie Sloan and our trained instructors teach classes on how to use the paint in a variety of ways.
