We envision a community in which youth and families are able to build strong bonds by communicating with respect and understanding, while leading healthy, productive, substance-free lives. We provide assistance and education that empowers local youth and families to surpass obstacles, reach goals, and overall improve their day to day lives. Youth Advocacy is an organization focused on prevention services and strengthening families within Travis County. Since 1975, we have focused on supporting youth and families within high-risk, low-income communities to develop positive, stable futures. Our organization was started by local community members in order to confront the high rates of youth inhalant misuse in Austin. Youth Advocacy merged with Workers Assistance Program in 2001 and has since evolved to include a wider variety of evidence-based programs for our community. We approach our goal of building resilient communities through youth mentoring, case management, family strengthening programs, youth development classes, and supportive parenting classes. By utilizing a strengths-based approach, our client led practice improves youth resiliency and family engagement to create positive future outcomes. Our evidence-based programs are highly collaborative with other organizations such as schools, community partners, courts, and local government agencies. Each program is designed to empower youth and families to make positive choices, learn healthy skills, and experience greater opportunity. We currently receive funding from Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Travis County Health and Human Services, as well as the City of Austin Community Youth Development Fund.

  2. Customer Service: Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. The perception of success of such interactions is dependent on employees "who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest". Customer service concerns the priority an organization assigns to customer service relative to components such as product innovation and pricing. In this sense, an organization that values good customer service may spend more money in training employees than the average organization or may proactively interview customers for feedback. From the point of view of an overall sales process engineering effort, customer service plays an important role in an organization's ability to generate income and revenue. From that perspective, customer service should be included as part of an overall approach to systematic improvement.
