ZFx was founded in 1990 by Dave Sieg, who returned to his home town of Kingsport, Tennessee after 10 years working in the motion picture industry in Los Angeles, California. Dave was V.P. of R&D for Omnibus Computer Graphics, where he managed the development of 3D animation software, as well as contributing special effects work in several feature films. Using the Internet at a time when few had heard of it, ZFx was initially focused on 3D animation projects, working with clients such as General Motors, Colgate-Palmolive, and Chrysler via the network. In 1994, predicting the coming growth of the Internet, Dave started the Tri-Cities region's first ISP, tricon.net, and learned first-hand the frantic pace of the Internet's growth. ZFx built the first commercial websites for companies in the region, and recognized the new demands the wired world places upon companies to provide excellent technical support and build customer loyalty. Out of this background, ZFx developed the Award-Winning Business Center software, now in use by hundreds of clients across North America. In 2010, ZFx opened offices in Asheville, NC, and in 2011, Dave Sieg moved to Asheville full time. He still visits the Tri-Cities area frequently, meeting with clients and visiting friends, but Asheville has developed into an exciting new environment for consulting opportunities and a great place to live!
