As a Benefits Analyst, you will provide underwriting, marketing, eligibility, and benefit plan analysis and support to the account team for current clients and prospects. What Makes this Job So Unique?
This position is responsible for providing the account team underwriting support in obtaining competitive renewals and proposals. Prepares client and prospect reports, such as plan cost history, plan design comparisons, funding alternative(s), benchmarking, contribution analysis, claim and enrollment tracking, PEPY (per employee per year) calculations, multi-year cost projections, network discount analysis, disruption analysis and other ad- hoc exhibits as required. Identifies anomalies in the data, researches and discusses with account team. Follows Strategic Planning schedule or other agreed upon presentation schedule to prepare presentations such as: Pre-Renewal, Renewal, Year-End Review, Multi-Year Planning, etc. Accesses and analyzes available utilization data from markets. Summarizes data for presentation to clients and prospects.
Qualified Candidates Should Possess
A bachelor's degree in business, actuarial, general studies or similar area
2 -3 years' experience with data management preferred but not required
Carrier or Agency experience preferred
Experience in reading and interpreting reports from insurance carriers preferred
A high energy level and the ability to work under significant pressure with frequent interruptions
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to concurrently handle a large number of issues
Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with software programs, such as, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and mathematical calculations
Ability to establish rapport and relationships with clients and carrier representatives
Insurance licenses (Life, Accidental & Health) required or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment
Google Suite experience preferred
