Job Description

The Health Information Records Administration Manager is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of all healthcare information. Manages and oversees the medical records function within a healthcare organization. Being a Health Information Records Administration Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Ensures all the healthcare information management processes and practices comply with applicable JCAHO and other required regulations and policies. In addition, Health Information Records Administration Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. Requires Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification. The Health Information Records Administration Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as a Health Information Records Administration Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
