Works with coding databases and confirms DRG assignments. Being a Medical Records Coding Technician inputs and maintains data on procedures required for state or other reporting. May require an associate degree. Additionally, Medical Records Coding Technician typically requires AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
