Provider Network Director directs the activities of a healthcare provider network to ensure effective operations and coverage of services. Implements processes and systems to provide routine services and support to members. Being a Provider Network Director analyzes network services and identifies areas to expand or improve to promote and develop a diverse and comprehensive provider network. Maintains positive working relations with providers and manages network contracts by negotiating terms, defining expectations, and monitoring budget. Additionally, Provider Network Director provides regulatory oversight to ensure network staff and providers comply with applicable laws, regulations, and network standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Provider Network Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Provider Network Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
