Technical Sales Manager manages a team that sells technical services, products, and systems. Sets sales targets and goals for the team, and coaches sales representatives to meet or exceed set targets. Being a Technical Sales Manager develops comprehensive sales plans and forecasts to identify and produce a steady pipeline of prospects. Stays current on market developments, industry trends, and competitor activity. Additionally, Technical Sales Manager ensures the team delivers compelling technical presentations that drive sales. Utilizes deep technical acumen to educate the team on products, competitors, and prospects. Manages contract negotiations. Manages relationships with key customers. Partners with internal technical and marketing teams to utilize customer insights and market intelligence to contribute to the product roadmap. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related technical or scientific discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Technical Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
