Job Summary:

Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Protection, a division of 1105 Media, Inc., are the leading media brands covering the workplace safety and environmental issues for their markets. Each brand’s portfolio includes websites, newsletters, podcasts, webinars, social media, awards programs and print magazines.

We are currently seeking a versatile junior editor and writer who can produce a high volume of news, product updates, and feature articles while also handling the rigors of working in all media platforms. The successful candidate will report to and closely work with the editor of OH&S and EP and be responsible for writing and sourcing content for digital platforms, editing contributed content for the print magazine, creating social media campaigns to market the brand and its educational opportunities as well as assist in script writing for podcasts and much more. Responsibilities:

• Daily deadlines for short form news articles that appear online
• Write occasional Q&As and feature articles for print
• Work with an established network of industry contributors for online content
• Edit articles for all platforms, including print and online
• Responsible for products section of the magazine
• Help to keep track of entries, market and manage awards programs
• Manage social media platforms; create campaigns to market the brand successfully
• Participate in podcasts and webinars
• Work with other team members in special projects that include our advertisers

Requirements:

• This is an entry level editorial job. The right candidate will have some background in digital and print media and a demonstrated history of writing news, feature and editorial articles. Candidate must know AP Style editing. Experience in business-to-business publishing is a plus
• The position is based in our Dallas, Texas office. Some travel to industry events may be required
