What is the role and where can you add value?
Summary
The Sales Operation Manager oversees the sales operations and administration functions in order to increase sales productivity, provide client satisfaction and grow profits for the New Home and Resale division. This position supports the Executive Vice President of Sales, Regional Vice President and field sales teams. Duties include the identification, creation, and/or implementation of revenue and gross profit enhancing programs and tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Responsible for providing an annual Sales Plan (national and regional) and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the sales plan.
Responsible for coordinating the specific objectives (national and regional) of the sales plan with sales management, marketing, operations and accounting departments.
Develop systems to track and report sales/net sales, promotional activities, etc. for key accounts (national and regional).
Identify and create solutions for key operational issues that positively impact revenue and gross profit.
Work closely with sales management to develop, communicate and coordinate sales programs designed to increase sales force motivation and help to drive incremental business for the organization.
Effectively managing the daily operational aspects of the team to ensure the team is fully aligned and working together towards annual sales goals.
Assist in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures as well as interdepartmental policies and procedures.
Work directly with Financial Planning & Analysis to develop and implement solutions, post program analysis and effectiveness of key sales initiatives.
Analyze and report on business metrics utilizing Salesforce.com including but not limited to: user compliance, key performance indicators and account activity.
Responsible for document control of sales operations contractual templates and executed agreements.
Build out an internal sales education program with our internal training

Qualifications
Sales experience in a corporate environment is required. Must have well-rounded, hands-on experience with all facets of sales, to include and exceed duties listed in this job description. Must have outstanding computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, and experience with Salesforce.com is a must. Sales process knowledge and presentation capabilities with the ability to convey complex features and benefits is a simple to understand manner is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills for building cross functional relationships, excellent organizational skills, and a proven track record of successful project management and the ability to drive a project from concept through implementation is needed. Minimum amount of travel may be required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university required; or four to six years of equivalent work experience in an inside sales environment with a minimum of two years in sales management.
Demonstrated experience in developing and leading sales process improvement projects required. Must have a complete understanding of the sales process, as well as knowledge of tools used to enhance sales productivity. Experience in the development and execution of sales programs a plus. Must have leadership skills, the ability to work cross-functionally and provide guidance and training assistance to new and tenured employees.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to speak to both tactical and strategic decision makers; ability to take a consultative approach to engaging with senior executives.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
