What does an Accessibility Coordinator do at companies like 2U, Inc.?

What We’re Looking For:

This position facilitates appropriate accommodations and live session accessibility requests based on students needs and will liaise between internal stakeholders and the Offices Of Disability Services (ODS) and other university partner contacts as applicable.

Relationships matter and make service your mission are two of 2U's guiding principles.  These come together when faced with managing difficult conversations, varying points of view and resolving issues across parties.  As part of any customer facing role it is inevitable your responsibilities will include working proactively through complex interactions and relationships. You will be called upon to manage professionally through situations like these to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students and partners and long term relationships.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Coordinate implementations of student accommodations with internal stakeholders, ODS and other university partner contacts.   
  • Create and coordinate assistive technology (AT) support documents for all 2U-provided,  student and faculty facing tech products. 
  • Coordinate processes and questions from the faculty, instructional staff, admissions advisors etc. regarding accommodations requests. 
  • Coordinate the daily tracking and tasks (emails etc.) of accommodations implementation 
  • Set-up technical accounts and training for captioners, interpreters and disability services staff as needed. 
  • Adapt to changing business requirements and set appropriate goals to achieve service excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 2-5 years of desired experience in the Accommodations/Accessibility field
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to comprehend from a technical perspective, students accommodations and accessibility needs
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and how it interacts with 2U platforms
  • Maintain updated records of ODS partners and other university partner contacts as applicable as well as assistive technology vendors
  • Ability to comprehend ADA compliance rules and regulations
  • Create, document and drive processes related to department policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to accessibility
  • Customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Working knowledge of CRM tools (eg. SalesForce), Learning Management Systems and Assistive technology tools
