What does an Admissions Field Events Manager do at companies like 2U, Inc.?

What we’re looking for:

An experienced, sales-minded public speaker to be the lead presenter and moderator for our in-person Open House events. This individual contributor will be responsible for creating systems to organize, track and manage event execution end to end as well as working to incorporate new and emerging technologies into our Open House process. At the events, responsibilities include leading the flow of our presentations, keeping other speakers comfortable and on topic, and moderating Q&A sessions while helping to facilitate event set-up and break-down and assisting with other Marketing Events team initiatives as needed.

In this job you will:

  • Be responsible for attending Open House events and acting as host, moderator, facilitator, and expert on all-things Trilogy while presenting to and interacting with potential boot camp students
  • Support the production of Open House events including scheduling, coordinating approvals, event logistics, Admissions support, promotional considerations, recruiting speakers, preparing materials and execution of the Open House, and post-event follow-up
  • Assist in optimizing the format and content of Open House events in conjunction with the VP of Admissions and Director of Marketing Events
  • Work with the Admissions team to coordinate and expand Admissions automation programs around pre and post Open Houses
  • Assist in the development and execution of integrated plans for attendance at each Open House, including internal kickoff, overall experience, pre- and post-Event campaigns, staffing, logistics, and internal alignment on goals
  • Support Admissions correspondence for all Open Houses including invitations and follow-up emails (both the writing and execution of these programs
  • Travel 50%-75% of the time to Open House events at our university partners

Things That Should Be in Your Background: 

  • 2-4 years of successful sales presentation experience. Confidence speaking in front of large groups is mandatory
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite (especially Excel/Sheets & Powerpoint/Slides)
  • Experience with web-based event platforms such as Eventbrite and Zoom
  • Highly organized and autonomous, but also collaborative and able to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while still ensuring high-quality deliverables and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred

  • Educational/Admissions or Non-profit experience a plus
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms like Marketo, Hubspot, Pardot a plus
  • Video editing experience a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Basic knowledge of HTML a plus
