What does an Student Advisor do at companies like 2U, Inc.?

What We’re Looking For:

Driven and operations-focused Student Advisor who will join our central inbound team of customer service representatives and support our student population across the country as well as internationally.

This role will be a multifaceted position that will require initiative and creativity, thorough attention to detail, a laser focus on the student experience, and the ability to problem-solve. This role reports directly to the Student Advisor Manager.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • You will respond to student inquiries both in the U.S. and internationally primarily through Phone Calls, Live-Chat, and Cases. Through these platforms, you will address everything from student financial issues to where to park
  • You will be empowered to fix most issues in real-time
  • You will provide exceptional service to students during each interaction
  • You will escalate issues to the proper channels if needed
  • You will properly document Cases in Salesforce
  • You will help identify training and process gaps identified by recurring issues
  • You will maintain an excellent on-time attendance record (schedule adherence)
  • You will act with the highest levels of honesty and competence in each customer interaction

  • A desire to work in a high growth, fast-paced tech company
  • Exceptional customer services skills, and an obsession to problem solve
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • The ability to multi-task and work between different communication platforms
  • The ability to learn different market needs and how to relate to students locally, nationally, and internationally
  • Extreme attention to Detail
  • Experience in either email, chat or instant messenger as well as voice contacts in an educational call center environment
