About You

The Associate Creative Director, Art, will be responsible for translating the client’s strategy, goals, and vision into online marketing creative that is aligned with 3Q strategy and best practices for the various platforms. You will partner with the Associate Creative Director, Copy, and assist the Creative Director in overseeing design staff and creative projects, including execution and planning, and guiding the supporting teams. You will also be hands-on in the execution of creative projects, so come ready to work on everything from banners and social ads to web design, videos, and rebranding projects. You will also assist the Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, Copy, and Project Managers in overseeing multiple client accounts. 

 

You are able to dig in and design but also stand out as a mentor and a coach. You thrive at passing on your knowledge to your team members and helping them grow. You have great communication skills and love to evangelize your thinking both internally and to the client. You can help solve challenging problems in collaboration with our clients and will become an invaluable partner to them. You also help keep things running smoothly for the growing creative team you will help manage on a daily basis. No job is too big, and no job is too small. Depending on what the team needs, you should always be ready to think big and solve complex problems, but also be willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

 The Associate Creative Director, Art, reports to the Creative Director.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Creative Director in managing, mentoring, training, and inspiring the team
  • Partnering with the Associate Creative Director, Copy, and Project Managers on resourcing, budgets, and timelines for a wide variety of projects across multiple client accounts
  • Creating original concepts with clear, concise art direction and design that is both visually interesting, on brand, and focused on performance marketing
  • Developing and presenting creative solutions on behalf of the agency that are informed by research and data and that generate a demonstrable ROI for our clients 
  • Critiquing and helping evolve the work of our creative team
  • Incorporating ideas and making revisions in response to the feedback and criticisms of clients and team members in a business-like, open-minded manner
  • Maintaining responsibility for the projects through final execution, including QA, and reviewing and signing off on all revisions and production phases
  • Designing in a range of visual styles as appropriate for different clients and mediums and integrating design requirements and best practices into all phases of production
  • Listening to client needs and helping turn those needs into key results 
  • Inspiring, coaching, and enabling Art Directors and others on the creative team to do their best work every day

You’ll need to have:

  • 10+ years as a visual designer producing for advertising and digital marketing
  • 5+ years agency experience in a senior role
  • 3+ years managing and mentoring junior team members
  • A proven track record of achieving results for your clients
  • A proven track record of inspiring creatives to thrive and do work they are proud of.
  • Experience co-managing multiple clients, account teams, and varied projects, tight deadlines and a high volume of work
  • Experience providing art direction to production artists, vendors, and freelancers
  • Experience directing and executing content productions including photo and video shoots
  • The instinctual ability to tell a compelling story with design
  • A demonstrated ability to model and execute creative research and to analyze findings into actionable, strategic design solutions
  • A deep understanding and enthusiasm for advertising, web technologies, big social media platforms and their abilities/limitations
  • The presence and experience to interface at the executive level, developing and maintaining client relationships and negotiating change within the business
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, presentation and meeting facilitation in both individual and group settings 
  • Ability to facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops designed toward specific outputs and client solutions
  • Ability to develop decks and various communication vehicles with other stakeholders that address clients’ strategy and tactical concerns 
  • A collaborative approach to work and the ability to give and receive constructive criticism
  • A willingness to adhere to the creative team processes
  • A curious mind and a desire to push the boundaries of what this team can do
  • An amazing portfolio

  • Experience at a performance marketing agency 
  • Experience with time tracking, project management software, and other team communication tools (Slack, Google Hangouts, Asana, Harvest)
