Position Summary:

We are recruiting for a Associate Accountant I to join our team in the St. Paul, MN location.  In this role, you will be supporting the day to day accounting operations in a shared service hub environment, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of shared service activities, and in accordance with agreed service levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare Hub journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and intercompany billing in accordance with Accounting rules and regulations.
• Successfully navigate SAP to view documents and account balances, run reports, analyze purchase orders, invoices, and utilize SAP data for analytics.
• Efficiently complete Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and analysis of data.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continued improvement and simplification of financial and business processes.
• Liaise with FP&A, CFS, and other Americas Hub team members to execute the financial close, provide guidance, and work together to improve processes.

• Perform intercompany analysis and support variance clearing.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and provide support for SOX and audits.
• Operate independently within a varied and changing scope of responsibilities under some supervision.
• Conducts special project analysis and backup support involving financial data.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for assigned activities.
• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
• Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements.
   

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years general accounting  experience in any of the following: journal entry preparation and posting, balance sheet account reconciliation, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable or payroll
• Intermediate level of proficiency utilizing Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
• Medical device experience
• Prior experience in Shared Services or cross-division business unit model
