The Opportunity
This position works out of our Dallas, TX location in the Core Lab Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
As the Associate Technician IV, you’ll provide specialized technical support services by performing any combination of complex or non-routine duties involving the selection and use of procedures and/or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument and/or reagent development and production.
What You’ll Work On
Applies a high level of technical support in a specialized discipline using knowledge and theory of electronics, life science, chemistry, mechanics, software, etc.
Understands and uses knowledge of other disciplines.
Uses computer applications as needed for functional specialty.
Advanced skills in computer hardware and /or software applications.
Accepts non-routine and complex assignments.
Follows established procedures Uses judgment and makes choices on how to proceed.
Assignments often require creativity.
Researches, recommends, and implements appropriate changes for process improvements.
Uses information from within and/or outside the organization when necessary.
Reads, understands, and instructs others in the use of manuals, test procedures, and documentation associated with specialized equipment.
Reads, interprets, and may create engineering drawings, schematics, and complex test procedures.
Writes basic procedures and technical documents.
Working knowledge and use of complex tools and equipment specific to functional areas.
May use statistical, mathematical, and other quantitative and qualitative methods and measurements.
May create tools and fixtures specific to functional area.
May work closely with engineers to execute product design.
Constructs complex engineering prototypes, models, and builds special test equipment.
May perform testing on prototype electrical and/or mechanical designs.
Conducts complex testing, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Conducts testing to determine effectiveness of product specifications.
Complies to all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
High school or equivalency is required. Associates degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
Work requires the theoretical and conceptual knowledge associated with an associate degree.
This position requires five or more years related technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree is preferred.
