Work Hours: 2nd shift or mid-shift role in Scheduling 10 am – 6:30 pm CST
Position Overview:
- The Back-up Lab Scheduler will actively support the primary laboratory scheduler, establish and maintain resource metrics used to measure the health of the department, provide input used by the Primary Scheduler and Supervisor/Manager who will ensure adequate available resources and appropriate distribution of work.
- Interact with multiple groups that directly impact the Test Lab including Assay Integration, GSS and Instrument Services & Metrology to ensure all equipment and instrumentation are maintained with the most current software, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities of the Back-up Lab Scheduler include:
- Maintain stability schedule and follow-up
- Maintain Witness/Verification schedule and follow-up
- Collect and provide testing and witness metrics for review
- Provide back-up support for the Primary Scheduler/Coordinator to assign resources to ensure efficient instrument utilization, workload distribution and appropriate head count are assigned testing.
- Support Primary Scheduler/Coordinator to update tracking boards and dashboard to ensure clear expectations are communicated to testers and management.
- Prompt follow up and respond to daily emails/requests.
- Provide updates on testing progress and obstacles across two shifts.
- Following through on daily feedback, questions, etc. to ensure timely completion of stability testing and witness review.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of B.S in a life or physical science.
- Minimum of 4 years in related lab or industrial experience.
- Understands and applies the principals of Design Control
Preferred Qualifications:
- Science and instrumentation (Alinity ci/ARCHITECT) background is preferred but not required.
- Position may be mid or second shift.
- Ability to receive, comprehend and manage a focused set up of inputs from a variety of resources. Calm but energetic disposition with the ability to work through challenges and seek solutions. Solid understanding of when to highlight issues which may cause delays or have other impact to projects. Understands necessary details to ensure resources are scheduled appropriately.
- Able to work with a variety of individuals across multiple organizations. Clearly communicate priorities and provide constructive feedback to ensure workload is completed on time. Maintains a level of respect and appreciation for others under any condition including stressful situations. Ability to prioritize resources when faced with requests, demands and deadlines.
- Need to work well in a changing environment and remain flexible to meet the needs of others on an on-going basis. Maintain a positive attitude in an everchanging environment of high priority needs and timelines.
- Excel and other scheduling/management tool knowledge, as well as strong verbal and written communication is essential. Previous scheduling, coordination, planning and/or project management experience is desired.
