The Change Specialist Team Lead provides day-to-day work direction and expertise to a small team of Change Specialists I, II, and Senior.  They have expertise in the change process utilizing the PLM and ERP systems.  They are responsible for ensuring that Change Specialists are qualified to complete the work assigned, monitoring workload and priorities and assigning work as needed to meet the organizational priorities, and facilitating communication between the functions and Document Control.  They are experts in the change process but processing of changes in not a main focus.

Job Duties: .

  • Has mastered the skills required of a Change Specialist, Senior though CR processing is not the main focus of this position.
  • Lead, facilitate, and provide work direction and assignments to small team of Change Specialists I, II, and Senior based on priority and workload monitoring.
  • Facilitate communication with team on day-to-day work direction, priorities, and department/organizational information.
  • Make decisions on: Escalated issues and Priorities and schedules based on information from the business and associated workload in consultation with Change Management Supervisor
  • Train or delegate Change Specialist and/or Change Manager training via classroom or one-on-one sessions
  • Run metrics and communicate to team on a regular basis and to leadership as requested
  • Propose process improvements to Supervisor, Quality Analysts, and Principle Change Specialists
  • Support Change Specialists, Senior in their training/mentoring of Change Specialists I and II Work with supervisor on conflict resolution within the Document Control team
  • Troubleshoot business process and system issues within the context of the change control system or delegate to Change Specialist, Senior or Principle with appropriate oversight/follow up
  • Provide feedback to Change Specialists (corrective and recognition)
  • Attend meetings with functional representatives and teams concerning projects and priorities. Communicate information to Specialists to facilitate work completion.
  • Focus on Change Specialist team development (e.g., communication skills/methods, conflict resolution skills, quality/compliance requirements).

- Reinforce procedural requirements and implications of not following procedures

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or Equivalent experience in Document/Engineering Change Control or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Document/Engineering Change Control role, preferably in a regulated industry
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Advanced knowledge of systems (PLM, ERP)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a small team of individual contributors; must have strong interpersonal  skills
  • Able to deliver training in classroom and one-on-one settings
  • Able to troubleshoot business process and system issues within the context of the change control system
  • Able to solve complex problems in a team environment which may involve multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making skills
  • Able to work in a geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate with change originators and other Documentation Services staff in the organization.
  • Able to work with minimal instruction/direction
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
