The primary function of the Curriculum Designer, EP Therapies is to drive the Education strategy & development in support of product launches & continuing Education on a Global basis. In this role, it is clinical to implement interactive, experiential & blended learning techniques to effectively educate & upskill Abbott’s Electrophysiology field sales & clinical support teams. Close collaboration with Global Product Marketing, Product Development, Program Management, Core Teams, Education Operations & Global Education Team members will be imperative. This role is responsible for vetting & recommending resources that promote innovative, efficient & effective methods of content creation which support cutting-edge learning principals with an emphasis on content that supports a virtual environment.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Curriculum Designer will be expected to spend 20-30% of their time supporting content delivery. This may include; didactic, hands-on training, virtual reality simulator training, virtual classroom management for web-based courses. The CA will be expected to travel in the field, interacting with reps to understand best practices; as so to replicate broadly thru training events on a global scale.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develops, implements & executes new-employee & continuing education solutions through multiple channels to build & upskill field competency in the following areas: clinical competence, technical knowledge, mapping skills, resource utilization & selling skills for the EP sales organization.
• Updates education program content on a continuous basis to ensure training materials & delivery strategies are current & relevant to the needs of our internal & external customers.
• Complies with the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes & task assignments.
• Maintains positive communication & collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors & vendors.
• Remains current on developments in the field; product knowledge, market & industry trends.
• Remains current on developments in the field of adult learning techniques; especially in support of virtual learning & learning in a highly technical field.
• Strong communication & project management skills are required to accurately represent project status & deliverables to key stakeholders & management.
• Resolves issues & meets project deadlines. Provides regular & realistic updates to management team & clearly outlines barriers that could impact deliverables.

General Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of advanced ablation therapy, 3D mapping skills & Abbott’s EP product portfolio.
• Minimum of 5 years of field experience / Instructor experience in this therapy area.
• Functional understanding of R&D, Program Management & Marketing functions.
• Ability to apply fundamental concepts to conduct needs assessment & design training programs to meet needs.
• Affinity for educating others.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify & articulate complex topics effectively.
• Excellent computer & software skills in graphics, word processing, authoring programs, etc. to develop presentation / training materials.
• Ability to work in highly matrixed organization & geographically diverse business environments.
• Ability to work within a team & as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to travel approximately 20-30%; including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications & Education:

• An advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• Additional relevant professional certifications or designations.
• Experience creating multi-media, experiential rich content in blended learning / virtual environment.
