As a Digital Marketing Strategist, you will play a key role in working with the different marketing and business teams within Abbott’s Cardiac Arrhythmia's & Heart Failure divisions to turn their business strategies into executable digital strategies.  Specifically, you will be responsible for upfront strategic planning including content strategy and execution to effectively translate business objectives into customer-focused solutions that demonstrate meaningful and tangible results.

In addition, you will use analytics and insights to optimize our digital channels, including web, social media, email, paid search, display, etc. You'll partner with platform and channel managers, analytics managers and writers to execute these strategies and optimize digital experiences.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manages relationships with internal business partners.  This role is the face of the Digital team to our partners and primary contact for all digital efforts.
  • Collaborates with analytics team and business partners to translate business goals into digital KPIs.
  • Creates digital strategies based on overarching business and marketing strategies
  • Leads an overarching content strategy and governance model.
  • Works with the digital team to develop and execute specific content and tactics.
  • Plans for the creation, approval, delivery and governance of content across earned, owned, paid and social media for a variety of digital tactics, including emails, landing pages, websites, social networks, mobile, paid search, etc.
  • Edits content for accuracy, voice, readability and comprehensiveness as well as consistency.
  • Creates and maintains editorial calendars, style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks and content migration plans.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of customer journeys and user needs to apply content and UX strategy according to business goals and objectives.
  • Manages the progress of projects coordinating activities among stakeholders and tracking completion of tasks to full execution of each project.
  • Use analytics, insights and best practices to optimize user experience, digital strategies, content and tactics across all digital channels including SEO and SEM.
  • Creates and establishes process changes to improve overall workflow/publishing efficiency.
  • Adheres to Digital Marketing policies including Web Content Review and Approval, Removal, and Governance policies.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in a digital domain – with strong digital marketing experience.
  • 5+ years creating and executing digital strategies/content dev for web, paid, social, and email within med device/healthcare.
  • Experience with marketing automation preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working with content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager preferred) and experience working with technical team members (i.e. business analysts, IT and developers) to execute web projects.
  • 3+ years of experience executing analytics projects or working in close collaboration with an analytics team (knowledge of Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and Tableau preferred).
  • Requires deep practical knowledge of these tools, concepts and methodologies within a regulated industry, preferably Medical Device or related healthcare sector.
  • Strong writing, proofing and editing skills within the digitally focused environment including the ability to create shareable content.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Flawless attention to detail; highly organized.
  • Possess thorough understanding of the digital space as it relates to: principles of digital customer experience/UX design, management of digital assets including taxonomy, meta data; social media; paid search and SEO best practices. 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; captivating presenter and great listener.
  • Experience influencing and educating stakeholders on digital best practices and insights.
  • High comfort level leading brainstorms and ideation and filling up whiteboards. Combination of right and left-brain thinking that challenges the status quo.
  • Experience with agile methodologies a plus.
