Job Title:                    Domestic and International Distribution Specialist

Reports To:               Warehouse Supervisor

The Domestic and International Distribution Specialist will be working as part of the Distribution Center Supervisory Team with specific focus on the Shared Services / Professional Diagnostics products.  The Specialist focus is to provide back-up and support of all warehouse and shipping activities within the Professional Diagnostics and Consumer Product ranges, both Domestic and International. Primary focus being the Professional Products.  This includes the preparation and execution of all necessary International documentation and scheduling.  As a member of DC Supervisory Team, the job holder is also expected to provide leadership in all aspects of their behavior and contribution on the operation of the site.  Primary responsibilities will be the coordination of the daily shipping operations of the Professional Diagnostics products including deliveries, inventory control, pick/pack, parcel and LTL shipping. 

• Help to plan, direct, and organize distribution center activities to ensure successful operations.  This should include but not be limited to the set up of daily work schedules based on the work load, the preparation of outbound and inbound shipments and make appointments as necessary and the daily oversight and training of the pickers, packers and loaders.
• Preparation of the International Documents and the scheduling of all International Shipments
• Ensure that housekeeping meets company standards and that equipment is well maintained
• Assist in employee training in both distribution center operations and SAP.
• Coordinate all communications between distribution center and the Shared Service Center (Customer Service, QA and Purchasing) as well as vendors for Professional products
• Employee must work in compliance with Alere NA QMS and Quality Policy requirements

Wrap completed orders and load and unload trucks when necessary

• Fill special customer orders/samples for sales
• Other duties as required
