Position Summary:

We are recruiting for a Global Commercial Finance Manager to join our team in the Austin, TX location.  You will be representing and supporting Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) and Heart Failure business units on all financial issues relating to the Divisional Sales Leadership. In this role, you will be accountable for implementing systems, reporting and procedures to maximize access to financial information on which to base strategic business decisions, plan and direct the respective geographies financial planning and analysis activities, including monthly financial reporting, operating plan budgets, strategic plan revenue forecasting, forecast development, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides financial and operational direction and support to the Global EP/HF Sales Leadership Team.  This includes recommending, developing, and providing business insights in financial reporting and business processes
• Interfaces with Sr. VP of Global Sales, DVP of Finance, Division/Area/Region Sales management for periodic reviews of sales productivity metrics, revenue, expenses and capital budgets, to discuss variances to plan, provide insights to the business, to discuss capital requirements, and assess return on investments
• Prepares annual budget and periodic financial forecasts for the global sales leadership
• Prepares weekly sales reports / analysis, to the Global Sales and Finance Leadership Teams
• Manages the preparation of the annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan and quarterly Forecasting process, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of supporting schedules and analysis
• Manages the loading of the annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan and quarterly Forecast data within the Financial and Sales Reporting tools
• Prepares financial scenario / business valuation analysis at request of management
• Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly KPI Reports to Management, which includes causal analysis of monthly results as compared to Plan, Forecast and Prior Year
• Provide tactical and strategic plan recommendations with the proper supporting financial analysis.
• Prepare and assist with Ad-Hoc analysis for management requests or presentations
• Develop and execute on continuous improvement initiatives to improve growth, profitability, and process
• Performs special projects as needed to support global EP/HF businesses
• Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, as well as industry trend
• Facilitates effective cross-group collaboration between Financial Planning and Analysis team and the sales management within the geographies
• Makes recommendations as appropriate to improve performance
• Ability to travel 25-30% to direct offices globally and regional sales leadership meetings & events

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience including, financial planning, data and variance analysis, and financial and data consolidation
• Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders (client and internal), end-users, business partners, and technical team members to ensure proper systems and plan alignment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated experience in leading and/or presenting to teams and senior leadership
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a geographically diverse, matrixed organization
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a related discipline
• Medical device experience
• Prior experience working with SAP, Dodeca and Business Objects
