Position Summary

This position reports to the Global Communications Center (GCC)/Business Risk Intelligence Manager (BRI) and is responsible for supervising day to day operations of the GCC’s third shift (Monday-Friday and alternating weekends).

• The GCC is staffed 24/7/365 and represents Global Security’s tactical communications and messaging capability. The GCC is responsible for all Abbott Park alarm and incident response communications.  It also monitors global events (to include weather, geo-political, and terrorist) to provide immediate messaging regarding actual/potential impact to Abbott’s interests: people, facilities, operations and brand.

Responsibilities

Operating under the general guidance of the GCC manager, the duties of this position include:

• Shift personnel oversight, governance and performance evaluation
• Shift workflow review and assignment
• Document/messaging review and approval
• Esri mapping review
• Travel and Executive Security Monitoring
• SOP maintenance and review
• Training and job instruction of GCC personnel
• Lenel, Resolver, Genetec interface; Abbott business support as needed
• Expert technical support during all emergency related events such as medical, fire, violence and crisis notifications
• Strong working knowledge of Corporate Access Control and Camera Systems
• Assisting GCC/BRI manager in the planning, organizing, staffing, training, directing of GCC operations
• Oversees the monitoring of both domestic and international events, reporting any impact to Abbott assets and personnel to Executive Leadership.

Accountability and Scope

This position is based at Abbott Park, Illinois, and is both domestic and international in scope. It is accountable through the GCC/BRI Manager to the Senior Program Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements

The following are required:

• Associates Degree
• Prior Communications/Command Center experience
• 5+ years relevant supervisory experience
• Demonstrated knowledge in reporting and metrics development
• Strong understanding of physical security systems technology; to include proficiency in Esri, Genetec, Lenel, Resolver, Travel Tracker, Send Word Now and Vismo
• Ability to identify and manage critical incidents and issues quickly, accurately and with limited supervisory oversight
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

The following are preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior Corporate Security/Command Center experience
• Business Continuity experience within a government or corporate environment
• Proven ability to perform under high pressure situations
