We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Product Manager within our Abbott Core Lab Diagnostics business located at Lake Forest, IL. In this role, the primary focus is driving the successful transition to compliance with the European Union In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation (IVDR). The key objective is to help establish and maintain the competitiveness worldwide and support the regional marketing teams to ensure commercial success.

Clinical diagnostic testing provides important information for diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and other conditions. Abbott Diagnostics is a leader in the core lab diagnostic industry with a focus on transforming healthcare and driving measurably better healthcare performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Marketing lead for the IVDR program including quality management systems implementation, product change planning and execution, product submission and global re-registration, and commercial launch.
  • Ensures program goals and implementation plans are met and participates in the development of detailed timelines including resource requirements, duration estimates, risks, contingency plans, etc.
  • Primary liaison with Global Marketing product owners, managers and directors and the IVDR Cross Functional Team regarding necessary and requested initiatives that must be addressed to ensure success of the IVDR program.
  • Contributes to creation of tools and work processes to enable team to improve communication and the decision-making process with increased focus on critical tasks; recommends and implements innovative ways to improve program performance.
  • Drive projects and action plans across regions and functions to accelerate growth for existing product lines and commercialize new products.
  • Maintain intelligence on the market dynamics including competitive landscape, market share, and environmental factors impacting the product line.
  • Supports the commercial organizations with documentation coordination (cross-functional project management, portfolio strategy/ prioritization) and global marketing support (websites, collateral, training, publications, scientific KOL, global congresses).
  • Influences decisions on product enhancement team meetings by representing the voice of customer through interfacing with all geographies to ensure product scope and timing will meet the market requirements.
  • Communicate with area marketing to provide updates on product performance, competitive activities, and other relevant information. Respond to country requests on product positioning, competitive information, product performance issues, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in relevant discipline (MBA preferred) and 4 years of experience, ideally including 2 years of marketing.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs (In Vitro Diagnostics).
  • Strong project management with demonstrated history of achieving timely, quality execution of deliverables.
  • Communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences through development of impactful materials.
  • Effectively influence without authority with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and leadership.
  • Navigate a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization and adapt quickly to changing needs and priorities successfully.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to manage multiple tasks and projects under limited direction.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 20%, dependent on business needs (not mandatory).
