Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:

Leads and directs marketing activities for the assigned product line(s) or business. Responsible for the development and management of strategies and programs to effectively achieve commercialization, profit margin and business plan objectives.  Additional responsibilities include business strategic planning, concept development and evaluation, segmentation, market research, and brand equity management.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned marketing programs for Nutrition brands (Ensure / Similac) across Abbott Nutrition International markets (Latin America, Pacific Asia and Europe, Middle East & Africa). Examples include but not limited to:
    • Lead development of brand standards and champion roll-out by region.
    • Lead brand redesign, develop and execute regional roll-out plan.
  • Develop and provide strategic planning and commercial input to the development of the global brand.
    • Direct the analysis of the business; analyze multiple external data points; oversee the identification of key segment business drivers, priorities and growth opportunities.
    • Design and monitor key business indicators. 
    • Create success criteria to deliver overall plan/ project success.
  • Participate in the development of regional / country business plans, identify areas of concern and provide input to modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace. Create contingency plans, if needed.
  • Lead development and qualification of select initiatives for brand innovation pipeline from concept to go-to-market strategy proposal.
  • Manage the allocation of product budget to maximize ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.  These groups include external customers and consumers, Area Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Public Affairs, Legal, Medical, Executive Management and external vendors or agencies.
  • Present product and marketing programs to Sr. Management.

Accountability/Scope

Central Marketing at Abbott Nutrition International.  Incumbent is accountable for brand strategy, equity, and programs. Actions and decisions can affect attainment of Brand, Division, and Corporate financial goals and objectives.

Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible product management experience in either OTC marketing, consumer packaged goods brand marketing, or a combination of the two (preferred).
  • Global experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and success in project management.
  • Ability to translate insights into business & brand implications.
  • Strong concept writing skills.
  • Proven experience in launching a new innovation from concept to creative assets.
  • Experience in leading communication campaigns development.
  • Experience in packaging and label design development.
  • Financial and budget management experience and skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams to attain business objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills including experience with financial models.
  • Applies data to support business decisions, strategies, contingency plans, and to provide direction to others
  • Sales experience at a country level is highly preferred for pediatric brands

Education:

BA/BS Degree in Marketing or similar. MBA strongly preferred due to the business complexity and strategic focus of the position. Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for nutritional's preferred.
