Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide consulting and functional support to Abbott Point of Care teams on human resource operations, organization development, talent management, and other business or HR initiatives.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds trust-based, collaborative relationships with managers and employees.
  • Analyzes internal and external metrics to assess organizational effectiveness and recommends changes to positively impact the business
  • Executes on initiatives to increase productivity, employee performance, employee engagement and partners with other HRBPs and CoEs to design and implement programs to drive results.
  • Supports activities associated with performance management process (e.g. goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, development planning) to ensure utilization of tools by management to achieve business results.
  • Partners with other HRBPs and CoEs to develop policies, programs and tools to enhance organizational capability and implement within business units.
  • Participates in talent planning initiatives, identifying internal high potential talent and supporting development programs.
  • Partners with other HRBPs and CoEs on the implementation of retention strategies focusing on key leaders and individuals with core competencies or skills critical to the organization.
  • Partners with managers to maintain job descriptions and identify training requirements.
  • Partners with HR team on diversity and inclusion efforts with an emphasis on attracting and retaining diverse talent.
  • Partners with HRBP leaders and managers in creating a positive employee relations environment through effective communications, policies and practices.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree required.
Experience/Skills:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in human resources business partnering or HR specialist roles. Fluency in best practices related to employee engagement, talent acquisition and development, and employee relations is highly preferred.
  • Experience with data analytics, and translating quantitative and qualitative data into meaningful and actionable information.
  • Experience working in matrix environments and successfully delivering results through collaboration. 
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage business acumen and interpersonal savvy to influence others.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to take appropriate decisions.
