OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position supports Global Procurement vision and long-term strategy by driving results through innovative value creation and initiatives leveraging procurement strategies and programs across Abbott.   

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive Strategic Initiatives and Programs:  Evaluate and provide recommendations to the operational objectives and savings targets to drive vision and long-term strategy.  Support execution of key strategic programs, corporate initiative action plans and related results.   Ensure key initiatives, programs and related business cases are presented with complete and reliable financials.
• Deliver Meaningful Value Stream:  Ensure short and long-term Procurement value stream is presented in a meaningful way.  Develop, implement and oversee processes to deliver clear and consistent forecasting and reporting.  Ensure consistent application of value measurement concepts and related financial impact to revenue divisions and corporate functions.
• Champion Cash Flow Generation:  In conjunction with the Cash Flow Initiative, provide financial leadership for initiatives and programs from a Global Procurement perspective to further enhance Abbott’s cash flow.
• Liaise with Finance Leadership:   Develop and maintain relationships and transparent communication with division and Corporate Finance to ensure alignment on current and forward-looking initiatives and programs to drive and deliver meaningful value stream.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8+ years accounting and financial planning experience.  CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
• Proficient with financial modeling, systems, tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP.
• Previous experience successfully supporting manufacturing/supply chain/ operations business units is highly desirable.
