Main Purpose of Role:

The primary function of this unique position is to lead Abbott Vascular’s strategic planning efforts and drive the collection; analysis; and presentation of such insights/guidance pertinent to the business's current and future global product portfolio and business strategies.  An additional primary function of the position is to support competitive intelligence monitoring around the world to inform our strategy.  This person will also be a strong advocate for an analytically rigorous approach to strategic (and tactical) decision making for the division. 

Main Responsibilities:

Be the owner and champion for a cross functional process to develop and refine the long-term strategy for the business in such ways as providing market insights, opportunity assessments, competitive analyses and supporting the creation of ad hoc reports.

  • Support the organization in the goals planning process by identifying top strategic priorities and determining functional goal setting activities.
  • Lead and guide the development and execution of qualitative and quantitative research among relevant stakeholders such as physicians, hospital administrators, healthcare professionals, and patients.
  • Lead planning and execution of medical advisory board meetings as required.
  • Develop presentations and strategic narrative for executive audience.
  • Perform data analysis from multiple sources and provide insight generation.
  • Build related business case(s) to quantify impact of new opportunities or threats within the business.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop plans for new business opportunities outside of our current core product categories.
  • Ensure the most sophisticated, appropriate, and cost-effective tools and methodologies are used to ensure that the Business has the most comprehensive understanding of global customer needs and market trends
  • Establish a productive work environment by creating trust and respect within the team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate and Division Purchasing, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) and other applicable policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) Minimum 10 years working in matrix environment with a track record of career growth. Minimum 5 years in market research, advanced analytics, or marketing in related healthcare industry.
