The Opportunity
This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
The Manager Supply Optimization focuses on the following:

Management of the supply planning, S&OP, and inventory management functions.

Sets strategic direction for the supply chain organization in planning and production of inventory worldwide.

Leads key supply chain strategic and tactical initiatives.
-
The organization achieves this through balancing numerous conflicts and constantly changing elements, e.g. customer demand, inventory investment, production capabilities, changing business needs and strategies, regulatory requirements, technology changes and supplier capabilities.
What You’ll Work On
-
Manages the development of production plans to support end customer sales, independent demand, and finished goods changes.

Manages finished goods inventory levels and safety stocks in support of end customer sales at the desired service levels, while maintaining the lowest inventory investment possible.

Resolves product delivery conflicts with plans and prioritizes production schedules.

Sets strategic and tactical direction for the supply planning organization to support business plans.

Develops strategic improvement initiatives to meet long-range goals; assure implementation of these initiatives.

Provides short/long term production plans for capacity analysis to enhance decisions related to headcount, key equipment and/or facility investments.

Consolidates, reviews, and approves information required for plans and updates; presents to senior management.

Ensures schedule commitments and financial goals are met.
-
Manages resources, provides direction to staff, approves broad staffing decisions and develops the organization to ensure effectiveness.

Coordinates, reviews, and approves operations budgets, capital plans, productivity/quality projects, cost improvement projects and safety projects.

Manages the introduction of new products to ensure a flexible strategy is maintained.
-
Translates inputs from technical meetings and Marketing into impact on short term and long term inventory strategies.

Coordinate plans with R&D/Mfg/Marketing to ensure adequate inventory levels are reached prior to Market entry.

Serves as liaison with the commercial organization to assure customer expectations are met and relationships are maintained.

Communicates with senior Abbott management and executive management.

Develops and tracks goals and objectives to assure annual improvements in operational performance, product quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Establishes effective measurement systems for performance to assure meeting of quality, customer and cost expectations.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Management
-
MBA preferred Supply Chain and Project Management certifications preferred
-
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
-
This position requires excellent leadership, problem solving, negotiating, and general “people skills”
-
Excellent written and oral communications skills with particular attention to detail.

Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint and presenting to executive leadership

The salary for this role is between $90,700 – $181,300
