PLEASE NOTE: This is a 2nd (SECOND) shift position; Hours: 2:30 pm - 11 pm

Primary Job Function

Provides technical support for all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.  Assists in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.  Works with engineers in conducting experiments. 

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Observes, understands, and complies with Abbott Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.  Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Participates in the Material Review Board (MRB) decision process.;  Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.;  Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.;  Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.;  Evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.  May develop or revise documents and procedures.;  Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processes.;  Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools and fixtures Applies  knowledge of highly complex technical concepts and/or develops highly advanced technologies or processes.  Thorough understanding of product or systems fundamentals in cross functional areas.  Recommends/utilizes/interprets advanced numerical and statisticaldata and/or computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment.  Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations. Performs and guides technical activities resulting from self-initiated or assigned programs leading to innovative applications of existing or new products, systems, or technologies having major importance to the department and organization.  

Minimum Qualifications

Two-year degree with 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and technical work experience.  May also require a license or certification in the area of expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 0-3 years of work related experience in technical field. Preferred but not limited fields are Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Engineering
