WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Powerhouse Operator, you will operate and maintain Energy Center equipment and systems. You must be able to perform all duties with minimal or no supervision.
Major Responsibilities:

Education:
High School Diploma/GED required
Background:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a field requiring mechanical/technical skills required
Specialized Training
After one year from operator attaining Powerhouse Operator I status a process known as the Sr. Powerhouse Operator Certification Exam will begin. The employee will be expected to have gained enough knowledge on the equipment and system operations to score at least a 70% on this exam. This learning process requires the operator to be self motivated and take the initiative to learn the equipment, systems, and theories related to the operation of each. At the operator's request this testing can begin sooner providing all other requirements are met and they have proven their competency at this level. Failure to successfully complete this exam (70% or better) will result in employee being displaced from this position.
Accountability/Scope/Budget:
Provide all utilities for the Sturgis Plant – electric, water, steam, sewage treatment, compressed air, refrigeration, air conditioning and fire protection.
