Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Product Development Technician II to join our team.  This position will be located in our St. Paul, MN location.  In this role, you will participate in performing various technical tasks on a variety of R&D projects including prototyping, test method development and execution, and fixture design and fabrication.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to manufacture, and reliable
  • Coordinate and execute building of prototypes/products per engineering design
  • Contribute to the planning, designing, and development of test requirements and any special testing equipment/apparatus to establish product and/or customer specifications
  • Work with engineering on build/test fixture
  • Participate as required within R&D on various engineering efforts for new product development
  • Supports performance testing of prototypes to verify product reliability and performance requirements and troubleshoot and suggest creative solutions to design and testing issues
  • Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices
  • Create and maintain accurate records to recreate desired build processes and designs
  • Assists in the development of engineering documentation for new products or product changes while communicating ideas, problems, and solutions to engineers
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a lab environment, including data collection and/or product testing
  • Intermediate level of proficiency utilizing Excel
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish assigned tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Solidworks and/or Minitab
