Job Description

Abbott Diagnostics is looking for a qualified and motivated individual to join the team responsible for the successful transition of CE-marked products to the European Union In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation (IVDR). This individual will lead the product assessment process, applying domain knowledge in IVD products to complete detailed assessments and implementation plans for the IVDR transition. This individual will be the subject matter expert for project management and implementation of best practices.

  • Responsible for management of the integrated project plan and timeline for a major program.
  • Makes and meets aggressive commitments to achieve plans and maintain progress. Establishes project goals and implementation plans.  Engages the team in the development of detailed timelines including resource requirements, duration estimates, risks, contingency plans, etc.
  • Effectively manages communications for a global team. Identifies and communicates issues and solutions; presents information to others in a manner that supports organizational objectives; identifies the appropriate recipients for information. Demonstrates responsibility for ensuring the information is received and understood by the recipient.
  • Implements tools and establishes work processes to enable the teams to improve communication and the decision making process with increased focus on critical tasks.  Recommends innovative ways to improve project performance.
  • Cultivates relationships with colleagues by developing an understanding of others' needs, promoting common goals, and following through on commitments.  Promotes productivity cross-functionally by exchanging information with appropriate frequency and timeliness to maximize its utility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in science (biology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, medical technology, pharmacy, pharmacology), engineering, or medical fields is preferred.  M.S. in a technical area or M.B.A. is preferred.  A Ph.D. in a technical area or law is helpful. 
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex projects.  Proficient in use of project management tools, such as Microsoft Project.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, quality assurance, research and development, product support or related area.
  • Higher education may compensate for years of experience.
