Job Description

The LIMS Scientific Lead will lead and manage the implementation and maintenance of a LIMS system. They will collect user requirements from teams and transform them into a data model, select off-shelf LIMS for customization or implement in-house solution to track data in plasmid design, High Throughput Screening, fermentation, protein purification and analytical development groups. The scientific lead will support and work closely with the machine learning lead to transform data into proprietary knowledge to improve AbSci’s protein expression platform. 

Qualifications

• M.S. or higher in Life Science, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent with relevant software product management experience.
• 5+ years of technical lab software, scientific development, and technical transfer
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and practices, and some off-shelf Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), such as Benchling, LabWare and LabVantage.
• Proven track record of successful implementation of LIMS in a life science company
• Experience with workflow mapping and requirement writing for software teams
• Strong communication and documentation skills including the ability to tailor the same content to multiple audiences.
• Detail oriented, highly organized, operates with a sense of urgency and strong follow-up skills.
• Proven track record of successful software releases including validation, user training, post-release issue definition and resolution.
