We are seeking a talented and passionate individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented and collaborative environment to be part of our success in the Protein Purification group.  The successful candidate will be responsible for development of novel purification protocols for a diverse assortment of proteins varying from untagged proteins to fusion proteins and antibodies. The candidate will also be responsible for providing protein chemistry support including production, labeling and characterization of reagents for the R&D department as well as other groups in the organization. The position requires a self-driven person with problem-solving mentality to tackle multiple targets, each with unique challenges. 

 What will you be doing?

  • Purify and characterize untagged proteins and peptides, fusion proteins and antibodies for the R&D pipeline in both small and large scale amounts
  • Cleave, modify and label proteins to support various studies
  • Perform stability and pre-formulation studies on purified proteins
  • Develop new analytical techniques to assess the mechanism of action of development candidates
  • Present reports and results at various meetings, both internally and externally to collaborators and at conferences
  • This position will provide the opportunity to make visible contributions to a variety of projects while interacting with a knowledgeable and dedicated multidisciplinary team

 What are we looking for?

  • B.Sc. with 5-8 years or M.Sc. with 2-5 years with emphasis on protein purification and characterization.  The level will be determined based upon experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various techniques of protein purification including affinity, ion exchange, gel filtration, HIC, CHT, and reverse phase chromatographies
  • Experience with protein characterization techniques such as SDS-PAGE, IEF/cIEF, Western blot, SEC, DSF and RP-HPLC is also required. 
  • Experience with additional analytical techniques, such as LC-MS, MALS-SEC, DSC, and protein labeling is a plus
  • Should be able to work independently but enjoy collaborating with employees from various departments
  • A high level of scientific initiative is expected
