About the team. Asian Pacific Development Center (APDC) was founded in 1980 after a large number of refugees resettled in Colorado as a result of the Vietnam War. A group of community leaders formed APDC to serve the mental health needs of the refugee community by providing culturally and linguistically responsive assistance. APDC has expanded our services over the last 40 years, we exists today to serve and support all immigrant, and refugee communities with a whole health, community based engagement approach through health, education, and advocacy. APDC’s Adult Education Program: Our mission is to assist adult learners to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency. The Adult Education program serves the diverse needs of our learners by providing the following classes: ESL, ABE/ASE, Citizenship, Computer, Career Exploration, Small Business, Culinary Pathways. Paraeducator Pathways, Family Literacy and Tutoring. About the role. The Case Manager will support clients in meeting their basic needs. The Case Manager provides comprehensive psychological and behavioral case management services within a continuum of care designed to improve or maintain clients’ functioning. Responsibilities:

• Serve as payee for clients who require assistance to manage their finances.
• Help clients in meeting basic needs for food, clothing, shelter, personal safety and general health care, and assist them with applications for income, medical, housing or other benefits which they may need and to which they are entitled.
• Ensure clients' access to needed services and community resources by arranging for transportation.
• Provide comprehensive psychosocial services designed to improve or maintain clients’ abilities to function effectively.
• Help clients evaluate strengths and symptoms, and facilitate in clients setting their own goals and plan for appropriate services.
• Guide and instruct clients in daily living skills such as medication use, diet, exercise, personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, budgeting, housekeeping, use of transportation and other community services.
• Help clients develop social skills, interests and leisure time activities, including opportunities for age appropriate activities.
• Help clients find and make use of appropriate employment opportunities, vocational rehabilitation services or supported work environments where appropriate.
• Offer support, assistance, consultation and education to families, friends, landlords, employers, community agencies and others who come into contact with clients, in order to maximize benefits and minimize problems associated with the presence of these persons in the community.
• Identify, work with and make full utilization of potential natural support systems such as neighborhood networks, churches and community organizations to encourage treatment program engagement.
• Reach out to eligible clients, inform them of and educate them about available services and in the community.

About you. The ideal candidate should be highly collaborative and skilled in empathetic listening and creative problem solving. Candidates must have previous experience working with the immigrant and refugee populations. Ideal candidates should demonstrate a culturally competent and trauma-informed practice. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or other related human services degree. Or Bachelor's Degree in unrelated field with at least one year of behavioral health experience.
• Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
• Demonstrated interest in behavioral health field.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Basic understanding and ability to work with differing behavioral health presentations.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: Bilingual
