Job Title:  Dietary Aide 

Shift: Varies

Description:  Works as a team member with other dietary aides, cooks and food service supervisors in order to provide nutritious, attractive, and timely meals for patients, hospital personnel and guests.  Maintains clean and sanitary dishes, kitchen, dining and serving areas.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.  Experience in food handling and service desirable.

Working Conditions

Exposed to temperature extremes, humidity, steam, cooking odors, and wet floors.  Hazards include cuts from sharp knives, power equipment, burns from cooking equipment, strains, sprains, or falls.  Occasional lifting of supplies or hot food items necessary.  Work is performed while standing or walking.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to:  Food Service Director

Supervises:  None

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent, preferably with training and/or experience in food

preparation and service.

Working Conditions

Exposed to temperature extremes, humidity, steam, cooking odors, and wet floors.  Hazards include strains, sprains, falls, cuts and burns. Works mostly on feet.  Some lifting and carrying of heavy food or equipment.
